"Well done for rising to the challenge and keeping your sporting commitment!" These were the words we heard as we crossed the finish line of the Heroes' Run on Sunday 16 June.
This event has become an annual rendezvous for Jalios employees, who this year chose to support the charity: Princesse Margot !
A sporting and charitable event that allows participants to raise funds for the associations of their choice by running or walking a distance. Accessible to all, the Course des Héros offers families, companies and associations the opportunity to support a cause while sharing moments of conviviality and practising a physical activity.
We take a look back at the event with Hoang-Anh, Aurélia, Lynda, Txu and Jean Michel, who share with us why they took part this year and what they took away from it.
"What I like is the fact that the event is accessible to everyone. The 2km or 5km walk is perfect with children, and for the more athletic, the 8km run is a great way to break personal records! That's what my husband did !", Aurélia, Communication, Brand & Content Manager
As well as its sporting and accessible aspects, the Course des Héros is renowned for its friendly, festive atmosphere, with plenty of entertainment at the start and finish sites. The money raised is donated to charities to fund a range of community projects. It's a great way to spend time with colleagues and go beyond the walls of the company.
"The Heroes' Run ticks all the boxes for me: a worthy cause, an accessible sports outing, the chance to get my family involved, the pleasure of getting together with colleagues and... a bouncy castle for the little ones !", Hoang-Anh, Transformation Director
For Lynda, Technical Consultant: "It's an opportunity to challenge ourselves over a distance that's still accessible (8km) and it's nice to get together with colleagues from other departments in a different setting."
Organising this kind of event is important for maintaining cohesion within the teams. For several years now, Jalios has been organising one or two sporting events a year: Mud Day, Course des Héros, Paris-Versailles and last year's Bulky Games. This type of internal event allows Jalios employees to get to know each other and is also a way of integrating new arrivals!
Like Txu, Quality Tester Technician, who joined Jalios a few weeks ago, "This year was my first time taking part, I did the 5 km walk, but next year I'm planning to do the race !"
The Heroes' Run is a reflection of what employees value at Jalios: team spirit, goodwill and surpassing oneself. The employees get involved with pleasure and pride. Jean Michel, Pre-Sales Manager, doesn't miss a single sporting event: "We didn't let the morning rain get us down, and we were right to do so: not a drop fell on the run and the sun was out for the picnic. A great day out !"
