On 5 December 2024, Jalios was present as a partner and tech champion at the National conference on digital communities. This first edition, in partnership with the Vienne department, took place in Poitiers, at the Futuroscope Park Convention Centre, and aimed to bring together local authorities, start-ups and digital experts to discuss the challenges of the digital transformation of public services and solutions tailored to the needs of local authorities.
Frédérique Mirner, Jalios Business Engineer, Muriel Pinaroli, Jalios Pre-Sales Consultant and Hoang-Anh Phan, Marketing and Transformation Director at Jalios, attended the event and presented Jalios solutions and how they support local authorities and the public in their digital transition. Here, they take a look back at a day rich in exchanges and encounters.
As a leader in the French collaborative solutions market, Jalios has a strong presence in the public sector, particularly in local authorities, with more than 60 customers, including the Centre-Val de Loire Region, the New Aquitaine Region and the Charente-Maritime Departmental Council, who have chosen Jalios for their collaborative platforms, Intranet, Digital Workplace, social network or agent's digital office.
Jalios also runs an exchange and experience-sharing community dedicated to its local authority customers, who were able to meet face-to-face last October in Arras (Pas-de-Calais), at the JClub Territoriaux.
Taking part in this event was therefore the perfect opportunity to meet local authorities, to strengthen the partnership that Jalios has with them, to better understand their challenges and specific needs, and to discuss with them the possibilities offered by Jalios.
There were 3 key topics this year: the agent experience, digital sovereignty and artificial intelligence.
The agent experience remains a key element of digital transformation and change management. Digital tools are changing the way people work. The Jalios Digital Workplace makes it possible to simplify the overall experience in the face of the proliferation of technologies and offer employees a single, intuitive interface. The flexibility of Jalios solutions enables local authorities to centralise their various digital projects (content management, collaboration, communication, etc.) on a single platform while guaranteeing security and ease of use, as the Grand Est region recently demonstrated.
Digital sovereignty was also an important issue. We can almost talk about ‘de-familiarisation’ insofar as local authorities are prepared to look for complete and, above all, more economical alternatives. This is all the more important given the current context of digital security and budgetary constraints. Jalios responds very well to this need with Jalios Open Suite, which is a complete, sovereign collaborative suite, including e-mail, document management, diaries, co-editing, etc. It's also interesting to note that while some local authorities are opting for the cloud, others prefer to have complete control over their infrastructure and are reassured to see that Jalios offers both SaaS and on-premise solutions.
Finally, artificial intelligence also raises a number of questions: should it be used? And if so, how? During our discussions, participants were interested to know how Jalios integrates artificial intelligence into its products. We were able to demonstrate the use cases that we feel are the most relevant, both in generative form (summary, writing assistance, translation, etc.) and in the specialised thematic assistants that the Jalios platform allows you to create without coding.
The use of AI also raises issues of digital sovereignty (where does the data go?), economics (how much does it cost?) and the environment (what is the ecological impact?). Thanks to its technical architecture, Jalios enables local authorities to remain in control of their data and their choices, in particular when it comes to using AI models and favouring a reasoned and responsible approach to AI. This last point is all the more important as Jalios has been committed to a responsible digital approach for several years.
