Document Management intranet

Institut Pasteur

In order to manage its reference documentation on its intranet, the Pasteur Institute selects the JCMS shrink-wrap software and integrate it with its Verity search infrastructure.

The need

The Pasteur Institute is a private foundation with 130 research units employing 2,500 staff of 63 nationalities. The Institute needed a documentary management solution to handle its reference documentation; it wanted to create an intranet and to implement teleprocedures. These projects involved three Institute divisions which jointly agreed that the priority features of the future solutions would be the characterization of information and simplicity and rapidity of use.

The solution

To build its documentary portal, the Institute chose JCMS, interfaced with an LDAP directory and the Verity search engine. This solution has greatly improved the management of its reference documents coming from multiple sources. It has made access to information easier, decentralized contributions, and created teleprocedures for handling forms and files.

The infrastructure is supported by the Tomcat Application Server on a Solaris operating system. Capgemini provided support and skills transfer.
